(plm), plm3000 is a soc that enables industry leading-edge and cost-effective solutions for consumer products such as internet hdtv sets, multimedia players and high-end set-top-boxes. plm3000 can receive, decode and play not only hd dtv signals (atsc, dvb, china dtv), but also rich internet multimedia contents. the viewer can enjoy better experience in internet-based interactive and extended content services (such as movie, music, karaoke, game, news, etc.) via the user-friendly gui. the audio/video decoders in plm3000 include: full hd mpeg-2 video decoder and dsp-based multi-format video decoders supporting most popular video formats (such as mpeg-4, h.264/avc, divx, real-8/9/10, flv, etc.) and high-fidelity multi-format audio decoders (e.g. dolby ac-3, mpeg, aac, real audio). our msetmengine, a suite of advanced and patented video processing ips, is integrated into plm3000 for high-quality video display, including 1) 3d adaptive noise reduction to depress analog random noise; 2) content adaptive noise reduction, to depress compression blocking and mosquito noise while maintaining edge sharpness; 3) advanced scalar, with 32-phase accuracy, 4-tap vertical and 8-tap horizontal filtering, supporting both linear and nonlinear ratio; 4) triple adaptive sharpness enhancement, which is content adaptive, resolution adaptive and visual depth adaptive enhancements. in addition, uccitm(unified content client interface), defined by plm, is built into plm3000 to enable the ease of porting rich internet content services from various third party content partners. the contents are protected by drm with tvidtmand enjoyed through a friendly and attractive gui. this platform is powered by a 2d graphic engine, hd osd module and dual 400mhz mipsò32-bit cpus. the software automatically downloads via p2p/p2sp/http/ftp, manages and plays multi-format internet contents adaptable to users’ preferences and choices. furthermore, our remote upgrade capability enables plm3000 to continue supporting new applications and value added services as the market changes. pvr and time shifting modes are also supported. plm3000 has rich peripheral interfaces, including: bt.656/601, 10-bit hd yuv dac, 30-bit digital hd yuv input, i2s and s/pdif audio, smart card, uart, two serial buses, two usb 2.0 (host/device) interfaces, ethernet and ir receiver. more interfaces can be implemented externally to support wifi, hdmi, dvi, vga, s-video, cvbs, etc. |
